Redevelopment
Redevelopment of inner city areas brings its own unique geotechnical challenges; with updated building codes and standards it is often a challenge to make sure redevelopment projects are built to todays standards. LGC Geotechnical has worked with both developers and redevelopment agencies to provide geotechnical recommendations for updating and redeveloping based in consideration of the site geotechnical conditions and the physical limitations often encountered in inner city areas. Often perimeter shoring walls of various designs are required to allow for the proposed redevelopment without affecting the neighboring properties. LGC Geotechnical has both designed and consulted on the design of these shoring systems, customized based on the geotechnical and physical constraints present. We have also provided site-specific mitigations tailored to the proposed development and the limitations the geotechnical site physical constraints present.
